Yesterday, I decided to follow up with my previous blogging assignment and have my student tech aids create blogs. For most of them this was fine. However, for my aids with serious senioritis, this has become the most hated project possible for them. They both titled their first entries as 'Day of Crap #1' and then they posted what they did for the day in binary code. I made the mistake of commenting back on here, and then that's why if you look on here, I now have 2 blog accounts. The other is to interact with them.
However, I know that they are not really too upset about this because their business teacher told me he saw them enhancing their blog sites during class. They will whine to me, but I think it will end up and be a good project. I will have to share the links in class.

I really think that this is a great way to tie student's work in school with you to their "real world". Of course, they'll complain - they're seniors, right? It will be intersting to see if they keep up the negative facade. Keep us posted!
I think that you are doing your students a great service! They are getting experience with "real" blogging. Blogging is becoming such a regular medium for communication that it will be so good for them to get used to it, and therefore, be better bloggers in the future! GREAT JOB! :)
Have you thought about titling your blog with them the crappy blog, where you have crappy discussions, and have links to their crappy blogs?
I like Scott's plan. I'll see you in class
